I wanted to start a blog because I think I’m fairly well traveled for a 23 year old. I feel like some of my experiences, both good and bad, can help other travelers down the line.
I know before I went backpacking I was so excited and constantly researched countries and other blogs trying to gather as much information as I could to make the most out of my trip. Since I have done so much research, I have a good grasp as to what is already out there and what still needs to be written about. So my hope is that this blog helps fill in those gaps.
Some of these stories are not for the faint of heart…or the judgmental. Some are honest and raw and quite frankly….illegal? They are a true depiction of what it’s like to solo female backpack in your early twenties. I’m also American and vegetarian. Does that matter? Not really but thought you should know.
My big pet peeve about other bloggers is that their content is a bit…vanilla. No juicy details, no curse words, and perfect grammar. Well, ya ain’t gunna find that shit here. I’m not a professional author and my posts are not meticulously thought out. I write like I speak. I want it to read like I am telling you a story or giving you this advice in person. There will be spelling mistakes and punctuation errors. I will have run-on sentences or jump around in a story…just like I would in real life.
All of the photos are 99% unedited. That 1% is to brighten up a dark pic or because I couldn’t find the original unedited photo from years prior. I hate when other blogs edit out the crowds at a popular tourist site or make the colors so vibrant it looks fake. All of the photos were taken by me or of me and are off an iPhone or my GoPro. Some pictures are not that great quality and some are just damn right unflattering. That’s life! I’m not perfect and neither is this blog.
So click around and choose to read what suits you, I hope my experiences can help brighten yours.
